Welcome to the website of the Surrey Arts & Humanities Research Group (SAHRG), based at the University of Surrey.

Who we are

We are a hub for sharing curve-leading research, with a focus on interdisciplinary writing that has political, scientific or philosophical impact today.

The group is facilitated by the University of Surrey Doctoral College and is organised by a group of postgraduate researchers.

What we do

We organise a monthly seminar series, held on the second Tuesday of every month, 4-6pm in the RDP Training Room.

Researchers present cutting-edge work in their field (often their own work in progress), followed by opportunities for discussion.

Summaries of all past seminars can be found on our website

Summaries from our 2019 Series

Our events are open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff at the University of Surrey.

Event programme

We are currently planning our seminar series for January to June 2020, which will focus on the theme of Spaces.

Update: Unfortunately, due to the social distancing measures in light of Covid-19, SAHRG are postponing our series until Autumn 2020. However, we have set up a Blog page for those who still wish to submit their research.

This might include physical, social, digital, mental or symbolic spaces, outer space, gaps and silences, safe spaces, confinement, architecture, quantum leaps, work spaces or event locations, for example.

If you are interested in presenting your research during this seminar series, please contact us.
